Information about deceased father’s bank account

Appellant sought information of his deceased father’s Bank account. The PIO informed that the account of Late Shri Gulwant Singh was settled on 30.10.2019 in favour of the nominee and daughter-in-law of the deceased account holder. Therefore, the details thereof, were exempted under the provisions of the Section 8 (1) (j) of the RTI Act. The CIC held that appropriate reply was given by the CPIO, as per the provisions of the RTI Act and there is no scope for further intervention in the matter.
Comments
If an applicant seeks information about the bank account of a deceased, information can only be provided if the applicant is a joint-account holder or the nominee in the account. Such information cannot be provided to a third party and only a successor can obtain the information.

Capital Markets

From the frying pan into the fire. If one was from Adani ICICI/Kamath lobby, this would be from Ambani/corporate lobby having obliged many netas and corporates. To clean up the mess and restore credibility, it needs a strong babu from within Delhi system who also knows capital markets. Capital markets are very different from banking and these retired PSU bankers are stemming institutions everywhere, including NaBFID etc

Raga new in politics really!

Rahul Gandhi new in the world of politics? Bruh. He has been in politics since 2004, a good 20 years. Surrounded by seasoned politicians from Congress and yet he is 'new'.

A clear-edge and majority for Congress

I don’t know which political observer is predicting a coalition government in Haryana? Every report including that of BJP-biased channels suggests a clear-edge and majority for congress.

Same people supporting both Gaza and Indian National Congress

Same people supporting both Gaza and Indian National Congress Some people in the USA who are funding and providing weapons and bombs for war in Gaza, are the ones supporting the National Conference and the Congress. They don't care about Muslims, all they want is that Kashmir remains underdeveloped by bringing back Article 370 which discourages Private sector investment so that they can have their vote bank. Govt jobs only employ 5% - that's it.

Respected Anna Hazare answerable

Anna Hazare answer these questions: Why did you blacken the spotless white Khadi and Gandhi topi by keeping company with known crooks? Why did you call your agitation as India Against Corruption when your volunteers were determined to indulge in horrendous corruption openly? Were you in collusion with these corrupt elements or not? Did they try to bribe you to keep silent? Why have you not agitated against these promoters of ugly corruption, mal-governance, anti-national, anti-people agents of foreign powers getting liberal funding from them? Will you repent for it before the Gandhi statue at Rajghat immediately? This snake poison in Indian politics needs urgent treatment before it kills democracy forever and facilitates re-colonisation of India.

A P Singh as CAS

Air Marshal A. P. Singh will certainly have a challenging tenure as the new CAS, particularly related to the supply-issues from Russia and the U.S., along with the falling squadron strength, the decrease in squadron strength and the local Tejas/Tejas-II/AMCA programs in stagnation. That's only part of the IAF's travails, as compared to dealing with the PAF and PLAAF. However, he's a strong-yet-cautious proponent of local R&D, so the IAF will have to see how the consequences of his leadership play out.
Interestingly, A. P. Singh may be the IAF's highest-ranking officer with full-fledged support for the Tejas programs, like ex-Chief R. K. S. Bhadauria. Having been responsible for fighter test management and having publicly shown confidence in the Tejas when he flew with the Vice Chiefs of the Army and the Navy earlier this month, the Tejas program may hopefully get a boost under his guidance.

DATE WITH RTI
A good case - something which will help a common man in getting some reprieve. It is very common to see that the officials do not respond to any complaint. This judgment would help a common citizen to force the officials into action.

Harping on caste

Why are we still harping on caste? If the intention of the Government (s) is to help the poor section of our country, give benefits of reservation, etc. based on income. Once a family or individual reaches that ceiling, they must cease to get the benefits. On one hand, we want to abolish the caste system; on the other by resorting to caste census we are perpetuating it.

Right to know of the action taken on complaint

A written complaint was filed and the complainant sought to know about the investigation and outcome of the same. The PIO denied the information u/s 8(1)(j). On second appeal, the CIC observed that the initial reply given by the PIO and the written submission before it now are not in tune with transparency. The complete denial of the information invoking Section 8(1)(j) is inappropriate as per the RTI Act, since the Appellant being the complainant, has right to know the broad outcome of the action on her complaint. The CIC directed the Railways to provide a revised updated point-wise reply i.e. action taken on the complaint filed by the complainant.
Comments
It has been often seen that a complaint is filed and the complainant later files an RTI application to know the progress or the action taken on the complaint. Exemption sections like section 8(1)(h) or 8(1)(j) have often been resorted to by the PIO’s to deny information. In many cases the CIC has held that the broad outcome of the enquiry should be disclosed to the complainant.

“Innovative way to demoralise terrorists& insurgents”

Electronic devices like pager, walkie- talkies, mobile phones etc ,having killed and wounded thousands of combatants and civilians in Lebanon, is a Trojan horse in modern warfare. It could be fridges and laptops tomorrow. The Lebanese face new fears of exploding devices. The communication network among Hezbollah has been shattered.
Can the technique be used against the ISI- sponsored terrorists? The Indian scientists must work on the ingenious idea to liquidate the terrorists and insurgents with a far reaching effect on their morale.

Add caste as surname

The expense on caste census can very easily be avoided. Let everyone add his or her caste in which they were born as a surname! It will enable clear identification of caste and take India back by centuries to where our politically ambitious vote bank conscious "leaders" want it.

100-days of Modi Government’s third term

Modi 3.0's focus is on tri-dimensional growth, development, and social welfare which encompasses economic growth through intensified efforts in global value chains, pharmaceuticals, and green energy. The infrastructure development prioritises expanding and modernising highways, railways, airports, and ports. Similarly, the social welfare includes safeguarding vulnerable groups, empowering women, youth, and farmers through benefits, credit, skilling, and employment guarantees.
