Need for civil services reforms

The elite Civil service called the IAS has turned into an oligarchy that is out- of- sync with the ground realities. The simmering discontentment among some 20 other downtrodden organised services due to discriminatory treatment, might trigger a grassroots rebellion This could throw the elites out of office. Giving a 2 year initial edge to Indian Administrative Service officers over those from less-fortunately circumstanced civil services, is arbitrary, irrational and bad in law. This results in recurring damage to the career progression of other bureaucrats, who feel constantly discriminated against. The artificial distinction hitting the bureaucrats belonging to other services, below the belt, merely fuels the on-going inter-Services acrimony. PM Modi alone could remove the dichotomy by over-ruling the vested interests. The Government is urged to take the call. My motive is not to hurt anyone. If anyone feels hurt for holding contrarian views, I seek apologies in advance.

Himachal Pradesh crisis

The threat of collapse faced by the Sukhu government in HP has been averted at least for the time being with the disqualification of 6 MLAs but the problems of the CM are far from over. The disgruntled MLAs will lead to destabilization of the Govt and ultimately Congress will weaken as in Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh.

Corruption reduced after faceless IT

After introducing faceless in Income-tax, the PM has greatly reduced corruption. However the investigation and central charges have become isolated centres of huge corruption in the department and all officers scramble to get these few posts.

Population control, mind control, currency control?

Where are the members of the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam being taken in this century? The twenty first century born have a better idea, as they are natives to the smartphone, internet & AI culture and foresee the future with aplomb unlike the worried earlier born gen. In their view Covid in all its variants is experiment for population control as it has already reached 8 billion. Those in the 80 to 100 plus years age add to the planners worry as there is not enough food or shelter or health facility for all of them after 2050. Besides, AI is going to replace more than 90% of workers and jobs. Employment etc. are going to become a thing of the past. Moreover, the human mind can’t match the speed of AI in finishing a job with almost 100% accuracy. Currency is going to die in a few months as UPI is going to become safer, faster and hygienic. The technologically super powers are likely to tone up the planet earth by slimming & trimming humans and their operations. Almost every industry and business will need upgrading or upskilling, if there is any hope to do business and we will have no newspapers, TV channels, cinema or opera houses.

Operation Lotus in HP?

With 8 or 9 Cong MLAs cross voting in HP, there is a possibility of Operation Lotus being run in HP. The strength of HP House is 78 and the majority figure is 35. BJP has 25 MLAs. Three independent MLAs can also support it. So if 7-8 Cong MLAs switch sides, then the saffron party will come to power. This is also a lesson for voters: All the parties and their leaders after money and power alone.

Sandeshkhali incident

BJP is preparing to make the Sandeshkhali incident in West Bengal the biggest issue in the Lok Sabha elections. The party has prepared a strategy to not only keep this issue alive till the elections but also to launch a powerful statewide movement. It is being said that under this, PM Narendra Modi may frequently visit Bengal. As a counter strategy, Trinamool Congress has also decided to launch the party's election campaign through a brigade rally on March 10, just after the Prime Minister's visit. It remains to be seen amidst all this politics, whether justice will be done and the perpetrators brought to book.

Excellent Idea to invite candidates for CEO, JNPA

I expect H N Aswath, currently Development Adviser (Ports) in the Ministry of Shipping may be considered for the appointment as CEO, as he is a knowledgeable technical officer in the Development of Ports and JNPA is engaged in construction of Satellite Port at Wadhwan.

India marches ahead

The new India has gone beyond dynasties now. Obsolete dynastic politicians and their divide and rule policies under various garbs are not going to work even as the new India marches ahead confidently to take its rightful place in the comity of nations after 70 years of loot by dynasts.

Accreditation of colleges, universities a big scam

The accreditation of colleges and universities is a big scam which is happening in broad daylight. The institutions which are not even in existence are given the tag of "Institutes of eminence" and there is no opposition to such working of the national rating agency. There is little transparency in the working of the national rating agency and it is time that the organisation is held to task. Will anyone hear or respond?

Rahul Gandhi’s yatra

The timing of Rahul’s yatra could not be more wrong. With LS polls drawing close, Rahul at this time should have been busy in holding meetings with party leaders of various states and energizing the disheartened workers. The negotiations with India alliance partners have taken a back seat and it is learnt the Congress alliance with SP in UP has failed, which is a big blow to the Opposition block.

Sponsors of farmers agitation 2024

People are angry at the irresponsible conduct of the agitators in the name of farmers. It is a ruse only. Green revolution has hurt the interests of countries like Canada, USA and others who have lost a huge market like India to sell their grain and other agri-products (recall PL-480 and its weaponization). India has started exporting instead- a double whammy. Holocaust is known to Indians but hardly “holodomor”, which is deadlier than holocaust as it is mass killing/genocide by starvation. For India the problems are many (akin to more thieves than police, more patients than doctors, more litigants than judges, more “for corruption parties” than those “against corruption”). We are told about the Bengal famine and blame the British for it (but it is not called holodomor). Why? Everyone of us must ponder this issue in the context of the farmers agitation 2024. It is part of a triple attack: K2 plan, food insecurity through Kisan Andolan and economic disruption by way of Hindenburg/Soros style abuse of the due process of laws. The sponsors want only Pappus for Modis. The farmers are going to be starved first by such agitation by creating artificial food shortage and liquidating the Soviet dictator J Stalin way later.
