IPS Sakshi Verma’s Strategic Focus on Traffic Regulation, Women’s Safety, and Drug Control in Mandi (HP)

IPS Sakshi Verma is a 2014 batch officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre and is currently posted as Superintendent of Police in Mandi,HP.Known for her grit, bravery and fearless approach she is often called "Lady Singham".

Regarding her vision for Mandi, it focuses on three key areas: traffic management,women’s safety,and combating drug abuse.

To ensure safer roads,Verma is committed to better traffic management in view of Mandi being the main and longest NH stretch route for tourist destinations . “It connects major destinations like Manali, Tirthan, Kasol, Lahaul, and Ladakh so better traffic management is a key priority,” she explained.

Himachal being a major tourist hub, improving road safety and streamlining traffic becomes essential to prevent accidents and ensure smooth travel.

Women’s safety is another top concern under Verma’s leadership. She aims to empower women and create a safer environment for them. “We are focusing on checking crimes against women, especially working with women victims of domestic violence”she added.

Last but not least, Verma is actively tackling the drug problem, be it her current posting or in the past.Concerning Mandi,Verma said, “Drugs, especially heroin are a rising concern, so we are focusing on reaching the suppliers and conducting financial investigations to break the network”
