Coal Secretary meets Chhattisgarh CM (UPDATED)

Coal Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena met with the Honorable Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister's residence office in the capital Raipur on 4th July 2024. Coal India Chairman PM Prasad and SECL CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra were also present on this occasion. Meena briefed the Honorable Chief Minister about the contribution being made by the Ministry of Coal in keeping the country energy rich and also discussed production expansion in the mines of coal-rich state of Chhattisgarh. The Coal Secretary also held a meeting with Chief Secretary, Chhattisgarh Government Amitabh Jain at Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan, Raipur and held important discussions on issues related to SECL's operations such as environmental clearance, forest clearance, land acquisition, expected cooperation from the state government in the expansion of projects, rehabilitation and resettlement. Meena emphasized on completing the mine expansion in a timely manner especially in SECL's megaprojects Gevra, Dipka and Kusmunda, through mutual coordination. Earlier, a review meeting of SECL was held by Meena in which Area General Managers of SECL's megaprojects Gevra, Dipka and Kusmunda briefed him about various issues such as production-productivity in megaprojects, first-mile connectivity in coal dispatch, mine expansion, land acquisition, environment etc. During the meeting Meena emphasized on the implementation of the mine expansion plans in a planned manner through timely land acquisition. Coal India Chairman PM Prasad and SECL top management CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Director (Operations) SN Kapri, Director (Project/Planning) Mr. N Franklin Jayakumar and Director (Personnel) Biranchi Das and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
