Both secretaries retiring same day, but one gets 2-year extension
Girdhar Armane, Defence Secretary and his incumbent Rajesh Kumar Singh are retiring on October 31 this year. Singh has been appointed as OSD in the department of Defence and will take over as the Defence Secretary on Oct 31. But the ACC has approved extension in service of Rajesh Kumar Singh as Secretary, Department of Defence beyond the age of superannuation, for a period up to 31.10.2026 or until further orders. He is a 1989 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer.
