UIDAI advises J&K Govt to upgrade biometric authentication systems
With a view to enhance security and accuracy of biometric transactions, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has advised that existing biometric authentication systems be upgraded from the Level O (LO) to Level 1 (L1) finger-point Scanners. However, to avoid any disruptions in the system, all existing deployed fingerprint LO RD devices are to be phased out of the authentication ecosystem in a gradual manner. The Information Technology department has already advised all the Administrative Departments to strictly follow the instructions/guidelines issued in this regard by UIDAI.
