GMDC is a leading PSU owned by the Govt. of Gujarat. It has registered strong performance in the Q2 of FY24-25 and builds on good performance of the previous quarter.  The Financial Highlights for Q2FY24-25 (YoY) show Highest ever Q2 revenue from operations Rs 593Cr Vs Rs 382Cr, up by 55% & EBITDA Rs 203Cr Vs Rs 130Cr, up by 56%. The Financial Highlights H1FY24-25 (YoY) show Second highest ever H1 revenue from operations Rs 1411Cr Vs Rs 1148Cr, up by 23%. The organisation has seen a tremendous increase in valuations and profitability after swift and strategic decisions were made after Dr Hasmukh Adhia, IAS (Retd.) took over as Chairman of GMDC in FY23-34. With the successful public hearing for GMDC’s largest Coal block in Odisha, it seeks to contribute fuel security to the state & diversification of its portfolio. The state PSU has acquired three prime coal blocks in Odisha to ensure energy security for Gujarat. The Managing Director of GMDC is  Roopwant Singh, IAS.
