Four IAS officers including ex-Home Secretary awaiting posting in Punjab

At least four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and a Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officer in Punjab have been waiting for the Government’s order for new postings after being transferred from their previous assignments. Accordingly, Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, a 2001-batch IAS officer, was removed from his position as the Home Secretary of the state on March 24. He has not been assigned any new responsibilities and has been instructed to report to the Secretary, Personnel Department. Likewise, K K Yadav, a 2003-batch IAS officer, was removed from his position as Secretary of the Education Department on March 2. Also, Puneet Goyal, a 2010-batch IAS officer, was removed from his position as Director of Food on February 25. Jitender Jorwal, a 2014-batch IAS officer, was also removed from his position as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana on March 19. All these officers have not been assigned new postings. Daman Mann, a PCS officer who was the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Mohali, was transferred in October last year and has been without a posting since then.
