Railway Board’s initiative for retired personnel
The Railway Board’s rehiring initiative for retired personnel (up to December 31, 2026) empowers General Managers to appoint medically fit retirees with performance ratings above “Good,” at remuneration equaling last salary minus basic pension (no DA hikes or HRA). This targets operational gaps in safety-critical roles, with 25,000 vacancies across zones.
