HURL signs four MoUs to strengthen CSR efforts in Health (UPDATED)

Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has reaffirmed its dedication to community development by signing four major MoUs under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. These projects span healthcare enhancement, nutritional support, accessibility for Divyangjan and senior citizens, and educational empowerment for young women—reflecting HURL’s holistic approach to inclusive growth. 1. Project POSHAN | Combating Malnutrition Among Women; HURL has partnered with Parichay Foundation to launch Project POSHAN, an initiative focused on improving the nutritional status of underprivileged women in Raghunathpur and Patia, Bhubaneswar. The project will support 190 women through regular nutrition packages, essential supplements, medical check-ups, and personalised guidance from trained nutritionists. Structured awareness sessions and consistent follow-ups will help improve haemoglobin levels, BMI, and overall health outcomes. 2. Project AASHIYANA | Safe Residential Support for Girls; With a strong focus on women’s education and empowerment, HURL has signed an MoU with The Kalgidhar Trust to construct a two-storey Girls' Hostel featuring 14 rooms at Eternal University, Baru Sahib (Himachal Pradesh). The facility will house 42 students, providing safe accommodation, hygiene amenities, and shared study areas. By removing geographical and socio-economic barriers, the project enables young women from rural and underserved backgrounds to pursue higher education in a secure environment.3. Project SWASTHYA SATHI | Assistive Devices for Divyangjan & Elderly; HURL has partnered with ALIMCO to implement Project Swasthya Sathi, aimed at improving mobility and accessibility for Divyangjan and senior citizens living around HURL’s units in Gorakhpur, Barauni, and Sindri. Through specialised assessment and distribution camps, beneficiaries will receive a range of aids and appliances, including prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, tricycles, walkers, hearing aids, spectacles, and more. This initiative is expected to support nearly 7,500 individuals over the course of one year, promoting independence, dignity, and social inclusion. 4. Project SEHAT SATHI | Strengthening Primary Healthcare Systems; In collaboration with HLFPPT, HURL has launched Project Sehat Sathi to enhance primary healthcare infrastructure across Gorakhpur, Barauni, and Sindri. The project includes upgrading PHC/CHC/HWC facilities, installing advanced diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound and phaco machines, strengthening maternal health services, and enhancing the skills of medical and paramedical staff. It also supports family planning interventions, ANC check-ups, and behaviour change programs, while distributing wheelchairs across all locations. The initiative will benefit an estimated 50,000 people and align with national quality frameworks including Kayakalp, NQAS, and LaQshya. HURL’s Commitment to Social Progress; Together, these four initiatives reflect HURL’s unwavering commitment to nurturing healthier, more empowered, and inclusive communities. From supporting women’s nutrition and education to improving healthcare systems and enabling mobility for those in need, each project represents a step forward in nation-building—true to HURL’s guiding spirit.
