Bank Transfers

Transfers are being given as punishments .HR deptt has simply no role in transfer policies . Family , work life balance is to be left behind if you are in banking sector.

Postings should be done within his(employee) home state and nearby homes to curb down expenditure and unnecessary traveling expenses and wastage of precious time of everyone.

“Opposition Vs the Speaker”
Both houses of Parliament were adjourned for recess in the ongoing budget session to reassemble on 9th March 2026.Watching Lok Sabha proceedings live this time was disgusting; simply irritating with repeated walk-outs and frequent adjournments.
The onus to run the house efficiently and smoothly with the cooperation of the opposition and the ruling dispensation, surely, lies on the Speaker.Viewed from opposition’s perspective, the Speaker’s conduct was considered partisan. For the Speaker’s action in suspending eight Congress MPs for the rest of the session and then advising the PM against attending the proceedings, based on some “credible information” that Congress MPs would create an “unprecedented incident” after reaching PM’s seat.Could all this not have been avoided?
Going further, the opposition moving the no-confidence motion gainst the Speaker, despite lack of requisite numbers to carry it through, betrays their frustration. The Parliamentary democracy became the ultimate casualty in the process resulting in avoidable waste of public exchequer. Could the law-makers not introspect and arrive at consensus on taking steps to promote healthy debate in the Parliament? As citizens,we need to ask where we can go from here!

Banks transfer policy

Being scale 1 officer, I got transferred to Bhubaneswar region from Kolkata on June 2024 but till now we have not been transferred to our parent zone inspite of applying on spouse ground. It is very difficult to stay away from our children, spouse and parents who require us the most. Kindly arrange to send us back to our parent zone so that we can give our 100% best service to our organisation as well as take our personal life responsibilities.

Banks transfer policy
It is not possible for us being a women , and in the country like India, to ask our husbands to leave their business or jobs and shift with us to a new place. Our children life gets horrified just because of this transfer. We sacrifice our future and don’t take promotion just because of transfers, still we are transferred. We look after our in lawaa and to play a major part at home with families. Its getting impossible for us to surrive and be self dependent just because of transfers

Lateral transfer/Transfer far from place of residence must be stopped at least for those who are sacrificing their career or promotion due to their family. Female staff should be posted near to their home. Upto Scale III officers are providing customer service sitting front, so transfer to another linguistic region upto Scale III should be stopped.

I am also working in a psb , my first posting was 360km away from my native after 6 years of struggle I got home place transfer. Now only 2.5 years completed in my native, in april again they will transfer me to other circle ie., minimum 500 km away from my native place. My son is only 2 years old no one is there for taking care of my son. Nowadays it is very very dangerous to trust care takers, so government will take proper decision on transfer policy to lady officers in psbs.

Transfer policy in UCO Bank is very unfair, every year they are bringing transfer policy, but human interference in the policy is very much. Those who actually deserves the transfer to their home state/zone are not getting transferred. Transfer policy/process should be automatic and should not be driven by the excessive human interference. In UCO bank employees who have completed two years of maximum service in North East India are not getting transferred to their home zone despite their repeated effort to apply for such transfer.

Current scenario, transfer and posting should not be thought as per century old policies and thought. In today's transparent world, working in own area may attract more bussiness and profits compared to in other area

Transfer policy is fraud

transfer policy is meant to ensure fairness, but its implementation doesn’t reflect that. Some officials continue to stay in the same city for 8–10 years, while others are transferred frequently across different parts of India.

Government should make changes in transfer policy, when a staff from Karnataka transferred to Kerala how can you expect that he should speak Malyalam. It is easy task, transfers should be done within a state, His family will also suffer

People dying after falling in open pit

There are news reports of people dying after falling in open pits left on roads without proper fencing or barricades. People are reported to be dying after falling in manholes left without covers. Children are being infected with HIV when transfusion of infected unscreened blood is being done in government hospitals in remote parts of the country. These are all preventable. Is it not the responsibility of officers to see to it that such things do not happen? When new recruits join the services, the motive should not be self aggrandisement and self promotion laced with hypocrisy, but public service. Only a change in mindset and a spirit of service can change things.

BJP alliance

BJP is already in alliance with NCP(Ajit Pawar) faction in Maharashtra. So it ain’t question of ifs and buts , it has already happened.
Pratik
Defence organization of Australia
The Australians have a different higher-defence organization than India. They have a four-star Chief of Defence Force (who plays a greater operational role), with the service chiefs being three-star officers. They focus mostly on centrally-based joint-planning, with a lot of power centralized under the CDF and his Joint Staff. We however, are trying to follow the U.S.-model, by integrating tri-service components under one commander per region. Even though Chauhan is committed to it, I estimate it'll take some mor years for the concept to mature and then gain operational exposure. So yes, it will take time.

‘FIRE Strategies'

FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) focuses on aggressive saving and smart investing. For many investors, the FIRE movement, Financial Independence Retire Early, sounds like the perfect escape plan, especially freedom from the 9-to-5 grind. Save aggressively, invest smartly and break free from work, decades ahead of schedule. But once real-life expenses, family responsibilities and rising costs enter the picture, the classic FIRE formula often feels difficult to follow. This is where flexibility becomes important. Instead of forcing a rigid retirement rule, alternatives like Lean FIRE, Coast FIRE, Barista FIRE, Fat FIRE and Slow FIRE are emerging as more practical alternatives, especially for investors who want financial independence without extreme sacrifice.
Lean FIRE aims to reduce post-retirement expenses, enabling a smaller savings goal. Coast FIRE, which focuses on saving aggressively in 20s and 30s and taking lower-stress job later. This is achieved by way of investing heavily when young and let compounding do the work. Barista FIRE means not retiring fully, but earning through part-time work. It is specially meant for those who do not hate work but want freedom. Fat FIRE means retiring early without cutting lifestyle. This is best for high earners who enjoy spending. Slow FIRE means financial independence without burnout by way of moderate saving and high quality of life along the way. This is best for people who enjoy the journey more than the exit.
If classic FIRE does not work, the above types of FIRE variants offer practical, flexible alternatives to achieve financial independence. The FIRE retirement strategy rests on three pillars – saving 50-70 per cent of income, living a frugal lifestyle and investing wisely, usually through low-cost index funds. The logic is straight forward. You drastically raise your savings rate by cutting expenses then invest that surplus in diversified, low-cost funds, so compounding works in your favor. Index funds matter here because they reduce the risk of costly investment mistakes and high fees eating into long-term returns.
As FIRE is not one-size-fits-all, the biggest takeaway is that instead of chasing a rigid rule, investors should be realistic about expenses and inflation; choose a FIRE variant that fits their lifestyle and career stage; focus on disciplined investing through low-cost, diversified funds; avoid withdrawing from long-term investments prematurely. Thus, financial independence is not about quitting work at any cost. It is about building options.
No matter what the type of FIRE, there is the Universal FIRE tactics which overall aims at a savings rate of 30-70% depending on the strategy. Here, savings rate matters more than the returns. One should invest simply but consistently avoiding timing the market. Control lifestyle inflation by raising savings when income rises and spending intentionally not automatically.
Yours truly,

Marks scored in examination when result is withheld

The appellant sought information about the marks scored by him in the examination conducted for the Sub-inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Assistant Sub-inspector in CISF Examination. The information was denied and on query by the CIC, the respondent submitted that it was not declared by the Appellant in his RTI Application that his result was withheld, which is why such a reply was provided to him. The appellant argued that since information related to one of the candidates has been provided, he is also entitled to access the information related to him now since the OA stands disposed of. The appellant submitted that the averred OA infructuous and the interim order that the PIO is relying upon to withhold the information of the candidates in a sealed cover was no longer stipulated to be in operation whilst passing the final order. The averred final order stipulates that all pending MA(s) are also disposed of with another connected OA being described as infructuous and this order significantly predates the date of filing of the RTI Application. Additionally, the PIO has not complied with the averred FAA’s order which was leaning in favor of the Appellant. The CIC directed the PIO to submit a written explanation to show cause as to why action should not be initiated in the matter under Section 20(1) of the RTI Act for failing to provide a proper reply to the RTI Application at the original instance as the queries of different nature i.e distinct from the mere marks and result of the Appellant were left unattended by providing an unwarranted cumulative reply. Further, the PIO was also directed to explain the prima-facie non-compliance of the FAA’s order within 15 days. The PIO was directed to provide a revised reply to the RTI Application incorporating the available information regarding the Appellant’s result and OMR sheet as sought for.
Comments
In many instances, it has been pointed out that the marks scored by an individual should be provided to him/her unless any of the exemption sections of the RTI Act, 2005 can be invoked to deny the information.

The slowness of the judicial system

The slowness of the judicial system is distorting life in the country. So is corruption in all walks of life including land administration and police. These two issues need resolution. The judiciary is the guardian of the rights of the people. Justice delayed results in justice denied. The slowness in the judiciary is in the district courts. The only way to reduce this is to recruit Additional District Judges through All India examination to ensure attracting talent into the district judiciary. This will immediately improve efficiency in the judicial system. Prior to independence, the District courts were manned by the ICS. After independence, only the provincial judicial service is ruling the roost, resulting in dearth of high quality talent. With increased complexity in administration, such dearth of talent is proving deadly to the judicial delivery system. The way to reduce corruption is less easy. The only way is to take strict action against the guilty. All India Services are not under the jurisdiction of CBI. This makes it easy for them to indulge in corruption since they are not under the oversight of the CBI. The jurisdiction of CBI must be extended to All India Services. To reduce corruption in the Central Services, the percentage of promotees therein, currently at 50% should be reduced to 33.33% on a par with the All India Services. The younger who are always more idealistic, are always less corrupt than the older. Service standards will also improve if more talented youngsters are recruited instead of having a majority of old fogeys drawn from lower ranks; just like the All India Services.

“Whither India’s strategic autonomy?”

President Trump, the unscrupulous megalomaniac, has unilaterally announced slashing tariffs on indian goods from 50 % to 18 % . Not out of friendship but,by compromising India's strategic autonomy.
This would have massive geo political implications for India which was hitherto getting crude oil from its time-tested friend Russia at discounted rate.
Indo-Russia friendship ties are bound to be adversely affected as India will now be a US ally.
Ties with BRICS members will go for a hit particularly those with Russia ,Brazil,SA and China.
Going further,in absence of any formal trade deals ,how could interests of Indian farmers’ and dairy owners’ be protected, one wonders ?Details of the deal are still to be finalized and released?
Announcing deals through the tweets is meaningless. Where are hard copies of deals, agreements and joint statements signed by the US and India?
Will the US's "Greatest of all trade deals" not adversely impact Indo-EU's "Mother of all deals"?
The public is confused. It must be taken into confidence.
We trust, the ruling dispensation will be circumspect in exercising all options.Tough times are ahead.

This is a deadly judgment with its impact across a wide section of the government department which most people will not be able to understand. It would help in ensuring better utilization of reservation benefits and put pressure on those head of department who are not enforcing the reservation. But there is a catch - a BIG catch - disclosure of the caste of the government servant. The conflict would remain and now the issue is out in public. Let us see how it evolves. Thanks for bringing it out in public knowledge

Reservation

It is a matter requiring sober thought that reservations in education and public services are now in excess of 60% (in addition, reservations in politics are at 22.5% for SC/ST and also for OBCs in local self government institutions). No society that places no emphasis on merit can survive, what to say of growing. Reservations began for SC/STs for 10 years capped at 22.5%. There was a caveat then, that efficiency of administration should not be imperilled. Today, with the country awash in reservations without any time limit, and each political party willing to increase it both in proportion and prolong it to perpetuity, after 78 years of independence, whatever has happened to efficiency of administration? Everyone agrees that administrative efficiency has declined over the years and decades. In the rat race to give more and more reservations, education and governance have been given the short shrift. How can a country where caste determines career become a developed country? Once India became independent and the Constitution came into force, equality was mandated. A helping hand to the deprived has become a depriving hand today. At this rate, can we ever compete with China and the rest of the world? Instead of world class, we are becoming less and less competitive every day. If merit and hard work are relegated behind caste, what future do we have as a country? The time has come to think of phasing out reservations. Those who have availed of the benefit once, they should not get the benefit again. Why should someone get the benefit of becoming a doctor through reservations and then go on to join the IAS through quota? Those who have got the benefit, their children should not get the benefit. This will broad base reservations and benefit more and more candidates also.
