Five-member SC Collegium reconstituted, headed by CJI Khanna

The five-member Supreme Court collegium, which makes recommendations for the appointment of Supreme Court judges, and the three-member collegium, responsible for recommending appointments to High Courts, have been reconstituted following the retirement of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on November 10. Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who took charge on Monday, now heads both the collegiums.  Justice AS Oka has joined as a new member of the collegium.The five-member collegium includes Justice BR Gavai, Justice Suryakant, Justice Hrishikesh Roy, and Justice AS Oka, alongside Chief Justice Khanna. The three-member collegium for High Court appointments comprises Chief Justice Khanna, Justice BR Gavai, and Justice Suryakant.
