BEML Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance research and development in cutting-edge technologies for marine applications. The signing ceremony was held at BEML's Delhi office, attended by the CMD of BEML, the Director (Shipbuilding) of MDL, and senior officials from both organizations. MDL is the only shipyard in India having a proven track record of building Frigates, Destroyers and submarines. MDL has been involved in indigenization of its platform and is actively pursuing for partners to achieve its goal of platforms fully made in India. BEML Ltd has established robust research capabilities across diverse domains, including platform designs for heavy defence utility vehicles, missile systems, metro and rail components, mining equipment, and modernization of defence systems. With a vision to expand its expertise into the marine sector, BEML aims to leverage this partnership with MDL to develop cutting-edge solutions for futuristic marine applications. This collaboration emphasizes BEML’s commitment to strengthening its research capabilities and driving innovation in the defence and maritime domain.
