The uncertainty prevailing over the Chief Secretary of Manipur has perplexed the bureaucracy. The incumbent Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi, who was deputed as Secretary, Higher Education in the Government of India, is yet to be relieved of the cadre responsibility. He is attending official meetings and on Wednesday, he was in Delhi to participate in a meeting. He has already met the new Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, a former Union Home Secretary. Joshi has already apprised him of the volatile situation in Manipur. The centre oo has taken no decision on the appointment of a new Chief Secretary. The issue is widely discussed in unofficial get-togethers of senior bureaucrats.
