whispers in the corridors
Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL) is proud to announce the launch of its Skill Development Project "SAKSHAM", a significant milestone in the company’s Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) efforts. The inauguration ceremony, held today at the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) in Lucknow, kicked off the training program for the first two batches of unemployed youth, with 40 candidates per batch. This initiative forms part of HURL's ongoing commitment to empowering India's youth through comprehensive skill development and vocational training. The SAKSHAM project will equip 320 unemployed youth across HURL's operational regions in Gorakhpur, Begusarai, and Dhanbad with essential skills. The training will take place at CIPET centres in Lucknow, Varanasi, Ranchi, and Hajipur, where participants will undergo fully residential, 6-month courses in two key fields: Machine Operator - Plastic Processing and Machine Operator - Injection Moulding. The inauguration was graced by S P Mohanty, Managing Director of HURL, who emphasized the critical importance of skill development in today’s economy. He was joined by Dr S N Yadav, Principal Director of CIPET Lucknow, along with officials from both HURL and CIPET. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a plantation ceremony led by Mohanty. The event also included the centre visit and the distribution of training kits to the students, symbolizing the start of their transformative journey. In his address, Mohanty highlighted that SAKSHAM is designed to enhance the employability of youth by providing them with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to secure better job opportunities and contribute to the economic growth of their communities. He also stressed the initiative’s long-term impact in building a sustainable workforce. “This is a proud moment for HURL as we partner with CIPET to provide youth with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market,” said Mohanty. “We are committed to empowering these young individuals, unlocking their full potential, and shaping a brighter, more promising future for them.” The collaboration between HURL and CIPET aims to foster growth, innovation, and excellence in skill development. Together, we embark on a journey of empowerment, opportunity, and lasting community development to create a meaningful impact in the lives of the youth we serve.
