Foreign diplomats in J&K to assess law and order situation during Assembly election
The last phase of three-phase elections of the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is in progress today (October 1). In the third phase, North Kashmir is voting. It is said that 15 foreign diplomats are in J&K to assess the ground situation regarding law and order. The delegation is being led by US Deputy Chief of Mission Jorgan Andrews and representatives from Mexico, Korea, Somalia, Spain, Singapore, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, Norway, Panama, Algeria, Rwanda, and South Africa are also present. The delegation has already met various sections of society. They also made stops at various polling stations and interacted with the voters, casting their franchise.
Why LJP Chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan adopts reconciliatory tone
Trouble from allies seems to be mounting for the BJP, especially from its partners in Bihar, where the Assembly election is due next year. LJP (Ram Vilas) Chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who had issued statements opposing the Centre’s proposals, adopted a reconciliatory tone following a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. In the meeting, it reportedly appeared that the BJP might reopen channels of communication with his estranged uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras. And since then, the tone of Paswan has changed. Paswan now proudly claims himself to be the ‘Hanuman’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
